Kisumu journalists mourn the passing of one of their own

Samuel Otieno Koracha (pictured here) passed away last evening

Kisumu Media practitioners are a grieving lot after they woke up to news that they have lost one of their own. Samuel Otieno who was popularly referred to by his colleagues as “Koracha” passed on in a Migori Hospital last evening after a short illness.

The soft spoken journalist was the Western Kenya reporter for Radio Africa group where he regularly reported for Kiss 100 and Star Newspapers.

News of Samuel’s death was broken to Kisumu journalists by Allan Obiero of Radio Nam Lolwe who apart from being a fellow journalist was a very close friend to Samuel Otieno. Allan received a phone call from Samuel’s wife last evening informing him of the demise of his friend.
“I spoke to Ustadh Samorco (Samuel Otieno) two days ago, he told me he was running out of cash and I promised him we were to see him soon, actually I spoke to Nicholas Mburu jana who volunteered to drive us down to Migori to go see Sam and give him whatever we had as friends. I have not cried for a long time but cant stop these tears from rolling for you Sam. RIP NYANG’, ” Said Allan Obiero in his facebook profile.
